100 in 100: Joe McKnight (92 of 100)
Joe McKnight did not have the best pro day at USC a couple weeks ago and had a so-so combine but didn't really blow anyone out of the water with his performances. However, a lot of the coaches and scouts will most likely revert back to the game tape. McKnights game tape is what will determine th outcome of where he will be drafted.
Throughout the course of his career in college, a lot of folks called McKnight the next Reggie Bush. McKnight certainly had a good career at USC, but he was not on the same level as a Reggie Bush as far as college is concerned. Bush was faster, more elusive, and far more explosive than McKnight was. While he was similar in size, he just wasn't close to being anything close to a Reggie Bush, so I never got the comparison's.
In 2008, McKnight broke out and had an impressive 9.2 yards a carry which was catapulted by his 206 all-purpose yard performance in the Rose Bowl his freshman year. His senior year (2009), the USC running back went over 1000 yards for the first time and put the ball in the endzone 8 times. He has the potential to be a very good complimentary back to an NFL starter but I think that is where it ends for McKnight.
Below, we'll look at McKnights stats, highlights, and projection.
