another six on defense. Matt Barkley isnât a given to be the starter this season under Kiffin with Mitch Mustain waiting patiently. The schedule opens up nicely with four teams that are in a world of hurt (Hawaii, Virginia, Minnesota, and Washington).

Broncos super fan: James Patrick Owen

Age:

37

Occupation:

Branch manager, mortgage sales in Southern California.

Claim to fame:

I have attended every Raiders game in Denver since 1979, with the exception of seven years when I was in the military.

Craziest antic:

I abandoned my wife, who was in labor for about 24 hours, to go home and watch a Broncos game. It has been eight years, and I still haven't lived it down.

Most recent claim to fame:

I read in The Post that the Broncos were working out Mark Sanchez at Mission Viejo High School. My friend Bo Haley and I decided to check it out. He knew the (ex-USC quarterback Rob) Johnson family, which holds a football camp there, so he got us in. He actually walked in the meeting room where (Broncos offensive coordinator Mike) McCoy and (GM Brian) Xanders were running Sanchez through some plays. The room was dark and he was like, "Oops, I guess I'm not supposed to be here." We were two of three people allowed in who weren't involved. So I took a risk and snapped a picture with my cellphone. I sent it to The Post, and they posted it.

Years with tickets:

My dad had season tickets from 1979-86. He got them from my grandfather, who had them in the late '60s.

Money spent on Broncos fandom:

The best answer I can give you is a small fortune.

Notable memorabilia:

Autographed authentic Ed McCaffrey jersey. Authentic John Elway jersey. Autographed Terrell Davis football and mini-helmet.

Broncos gear you're most proud of:

My tattoo. I've got the Broncos logo on my left biceps. That thing is so faded and worn out.

Favorite current Bronco:

Knowshon Moreno. I'm excited to see what he's going to do. I've got a really good friend who knows his family pretty well.

Favorite all-time Bronco:

That's a very, very tough question. I would have to say it's a tossup between two players. The first would be Steve Atwater because of his hits. And the second would have to be McCaffrey because of the hits he took and still got up.
